The following photographs are of the Japanese Snow Monkey, or Macaque, who live in the Nagano mountains of Japan. The monkeys do not live in a zoo, rather the Shiga Kogen Highland region which has a large number of natural hotsprings. In the winter the temperature is well below freezing, and often the monkeys will stay warm by soaking in the hotsprings.
